Redeemed To Rise.

Jorge Hernandez is alive by the grace of God.

Once a promising athlete with big dreams and a bright future, Jorge’s life was marked early by instability, broken identity, and silent pressure. Raised in Las Vegas after being born in Mexico, he grew up navigating a fractured home, an alcoholic father, and the weight of trying to be strong for his family. By high school, he was popular, talented, and voted “Best All Around.” But beneath the surface, identity was shifting.

What began as small compromises became deeper drift. Lost opportunities, broken relationships, and misplaced identity slowly pulled him away from who he was created to be.

On June 28, 2009, everything changed.

After a season of spiritual confusion and chasing fulfillment in the wrong places, Jorge found himself unconscious in a parked car on the hottest day of the year in Las Vegas. A tragic accident caused the vehicle to explode. Engulfed in flames, burned over 80% of his body, Jorge was given less than a 5% chance of survival.

He spent months in a coma. Doctors told his family repeatedly that he would not make it. His kidneys failed. His body shut down. Both legs were lost. His hands were severely damaged. Everything that once defined him physically was gone.

But God was not finished.
